Everyone reluctantly agreed, but Meredith and Derek were in the shower together when Maggie and her father arrived. Indeed, the synopsis for “Can We Start Again, Please” reveals that other hospital staff will learn the truth about Amelia’s past addictions in Episode 7 of Grey's Anatomy Season 11. According to Scorsone herself, the revelation occurs when the family member of a patient freaks out that a former addict will be performing surgery on her loved one.
“She’s mortified, but it goes even deeper than that,” Scorsone said of Amelia’s reaction to her secrets being revealed in Grey's Anatomy Season 11, Episode 7. “I think she so firmly compartmentalized that part of her life. She feels that she escaped all of that when she moved to Seattle. Alcoholism and drug addiction is a very dangerous disease. And she knows that she’s always one drink away from falling prey to it. Becoming stressed and isolated is really dangerous for someone who suffers from addiction. So, yes, she’s embarrassed and humiliated, but, beyond that, she’s scared for her sober life.”
Also in “Can We Start Again, Please,” Bailey (Chandra Wilson) will oversee Jo’s (Camilla Luddinton) first attempt at solo surgery, while Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) must make a major decision after learning last week that Dr. Herman (Geena Davis) is dying from a brain tumor. Meanwhile, the other Grey's Anatomy doctors must help a couple who escaped a fire in Season 7, Episode 11.
